Daul Kim

why is this such a time for passing-away?

the elephant man

No other movie has affected me as much as this one. It is a terrible yet beautiful story about the life of John (Joseph) Merrick. I am not able to comment any more. Just go and see it. Hopefully you'll learn something as well. Like the fact that we are all really so incredibly stupid and ungrateful.

"Tis true my form is something odd,
But blaming me is blaming God.
Could I create myself anew,
I would not fail in pleasing you.
If I could reach from pole to pole,
Or grasp the ocean with a span,
I would be measured by the soul,
The mind's the standard of the man."

A poem by Isaac Watts that Joseph Merrick would use to end his letters.

The Elephant Man (1980) by David Lynch, starring Anthony Hopkins and John Hurt.

this is it

I saw this yesterday. I cried, Yes, I know. Again. But I just can't get over the fact that this immense talent is no more with us. Of course, he'll always stay with us, in millions of records and videos and inside our hearts, but that's not quite the same, is it?

+ The uniqueness of his style is indescribable. I mean, how bizzare were those gold sequin pants? He's the only man in the entire Universe who could pull something like that off. Just because he is Michael Jackson. AND I need to get one of those MJ jackets. He had an amazing one in the movie - black with Cruel de Vil shoulders and white lapels one of which was heavily embellished.

P.S. Is it just me or the moonwalk was painfully missing?

deer tiles

I feel like dashing into my bathroom and tearing off all the tiles just so I could replace them with these fabulous fairytale ones. A must for every deer lover.

Handcrafted tiles (designer Marcello Chiarenza) at Ceramica Bardelli.
They have lots of other beautiful tiles as well.
Definitely go to their front page to see how they're made.

hors de prix

Priceless. Adore this movie. It might be even better than the Breakfast at Tiffany's. Audrey is so divine and elusory in this one.
